25 Comments This lovely weekend I spend in Belgium, where the Spa Six Hours takes place. Last weekend I was at the Goodwood Revival. Yes, there is much racing on the wallpaper - but it IS also important motorsport. Have you thought about how much motoring memories of life in the condensed form?
It has been several months since I aired my anguish at having to choose between the two events. And I ended up following the læserråd that sounded that I should just go to both. Thank you, Klaus!
Some might think it is totally exaggerated in motorsports. housetrip It seemed I almost even. But I just love to see the classic machines do what they are designed for. And the many and very relaxed transport kilometers housetrip during the course of the Volvo I came so to philosophize about how much real racing similar to life itself. housetrip
I think I have touched upon the subject before, but I was so excited about my realization that I will dedicate an entire head to it anyway. Just think about it: Is it taking place in a given starting field of some laps and hours not incredibly similar to what is going on in real life?
A lot of people should all be there. So respect is in order. Exhibiting you no respect, then you become unpopular. Those are always some of. Whatever you are, then you should also maintain self - otherwise you will be kanøflet. Respect must also include that all are not created equal or come into the world with the same terms. housetrip Some are better drivers than others. Others are richer than some. It may get good matchups out.
Some are preparing for death. Others take it to chance. Some are self made. Others allow the butler on the coarse. Some take chances. Others are cautious. Some thrive in adversity, others lose their enthusiasm. Some love to hunt, others to be the hunted. Some are quick on a single lap, others are stable over many. Some can not work, others do not work alone. Some are poor timekeeping but good in years - others housetrip have reversed. Some are masters of split-second decisions, others are better at strategy. Some are specalister, other generalists. And so on: The point is that they are all there, and they do differently and it goes them differently.
It was during the week some reading debate on Good Woods loose interpretation of historic race cars specifications and their relative strengths. You know - this with the international FIA-rules (which we also run after in Denmark) in principle allow the same modifications to the cars that were used in the period housetrip in which they were active.
It's a never-ending discussion of the razor-sharp FIA interpretation maintains the strength of the relationship as it once was, and that means that some cars will never be competitive. Our good friend Herlof Jensen's Alfa Romeo Giulia is a good example: it is in the same class as a Ford Lotus Cortina, and it will never be able to beat it because it is both weaker and heavier. So it was back then and how it is today.
But now the good Herlof course besides being an ardent Alfa Romeo enthusiast also an athlete who is well aware of the first paragraph in the same FIA regulations: Historic motorsport is about more than winning. And so he drives on in his Alfa Romeo Giulia and have fun with it. Since he is never alone on the field, so shall he usually good fun in the fighting with some other cars. As might also not possible winners in THEIR divisions. But also being driven by ardent enthusiasts - their make, model or just for it to run historic motorsport without the razor-sharp focus on any win-or-else.
And so they all also children. The aspect I think too often forgotten when
