Avella has made many enemies over the years.He still is not well-liked by the Democratic establishment and now that padavan is gone he's on his own in 2012. I dont know if Halloran will challenge him 2012 but it certainly looks like he will. He will probably have a primary opponent liver location too, likely Kevin Kim or Constantine Kavadas.
