Come celebrate with us for a good cause. Tuesday ownersdirect 2/17 @ 6 PM in the Parish ownersdirect Hall. Jack Russell and the Terriers will return for entertainment as well as a Chef Gary Harper Mardi Gras menu. All funds support the Bolivia Mission Trip. $15 per person. A sign up sheet is located in the lobby. We need donations for the silent and live auctions. This is always an amazing array of the talent we have at Ascension. Donations can include artwork, pottery, handmade clothing, knitted and crocheted items, tennis, riding, bridge, music lessons, photography, published works, catering services, vacation homes for rental, boat/airplane rides, homemade goodies and much, much more! Please fill out a donation ownersdirect sheet at the table in the lobby to let the committee know what you are submitting.
As you may know, a request has been made by Ascension parishioners to provide a Same-Gender ownersdirect Blessing. A series of small group meetings was set up in January, February, and March 2015 to provide a time for discussion, questions, and compilation of feedback to our vestry. Here are the dates, times, and locations of the meetings yet to be held: Please note that this first date is an additional opportunity if you have not been able to attend yet:

You may also email your thoughts concerning Ascension s offering same-gender blessings to either Fr. Howard or Julie Hembree ownersdirect for inclusion in the vestry s discernment. If you wish to talk with Fr. Howard, he will be available.
If you are interested in going on the winter retreat, it s not too late! There are still a couple of spots left, so get your payment in today to secure your spot! We will be staying in a cabin in Gatlinburg from February ownersdirect 13th – 16th. Our theme for this year s retreat is Encountering God, and we ll get to do a lot of fun activities together, including a beautiful hike in the Smokies ownersdirect and games in Gatlinburg. The cost is $75 per person.
Our Ultreya will be held at the Ascension Parish Hall on February 9 at 6:30 PM . Please join us for snacks, song, a sharing time, and some discussion about whether to rotate future Ultreya meetings between the other participating parishes in this area. Saturday, February 21, from 9:30 AM until 1:30 PM at the Parish Hall of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension. Coffee and pastries and lunch will be provided. Following the presentation on this topic at the ECW Fall Ingathering last September, many requests were made for more information and the sharing of the stories of the women who were leaders in this effort. In response to these requests, we have scheduled a panel discussion with the Rev. Dr. Carter Heyward, (one of the original Philadelphia Eleven), the Rev. Anne Bonnyman (one of the first women ordained ownersdirect in the Diocese of Tennessee), and the Rev. Caroline Vogel (priest at Church of the Good Samaritan and chaplain at UT Hospital). The Rev. Michelle Warriner ownersdirect Bolt, Priest Associate at St. John s Cathedral, will serve as moderator.
