A word from the event coordinators: We’d like to thank all the contestants who gave it a go this season and all the volunteers who chipped in to make it possible. Most of all of our generous sponsors for support throughout this series with special thanks going to Farmdog Surf School, Wicked Oceans and JP Australia. the cabin in the woods Farmdog’s was the central HQ of event operations, Wicked Oceans made up the best ever series shirts (yes they were from recycled soda bottles) and JP Australia offered up a board for raffle. We now have a few dollars to provide the cabin in the woods to Nags Head Ocean Rescue (because they help keep us safe) and the Surfrider the cabin in the woods Foundation, Outer Banks Chapter (because they help keep our favorite spots open and clean).

Brent Growing up as a kid in Virginia Beach, Brent has always the cabin in the woods been surrounded by water. Sailing, the cabin in the woods surfing, fishing and skateboarding were his passions and foundation that drew him near the ocean. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and graduated with a Bachelor's in Communication Arts & Design. Having worked at several companies in Richmond as an Art Director, and living away from the ocean for about 10 years, he and his wife decided to make the move back East with their sights on the Outer Banks. With surfing being his favorite hobby, the Outer Banks was a perfect fit. In 2005, Brent headed back to a more familiar and welcoming beach community and now lives in Kill Devil Hills with his wife and 3 daughters. Brent has run a Graphic Design business (BN Design & Advertising) for over 15 years. Complimenting his Design business during the day, Brent is also a musician and plays gigs regularly the cabin in the woods on the Outer Banks and is also a board member of the Surfrider Foundation, Outer Banks Chapter.
